nanbusakiori is a kind of local weaving technique – torn cloth is used as the weft

この裂き織りの保存会を創設した叔母　5年前、鬼籍に入ってしまった

my dear aunt started a weaving club – but unfortunately, she passed away 5 yrs ago

手仕事をこよなく愛した暎子おばちゃん　遺された75台の地機たち　

お弟子さん達は今も変わらずにとんとんとんと機を織る

auntie eiko loved arts & crafts – her spirit lives in her associates’ hearts

they continue to work with 75 looms and make beautiful sakiori cloth
