野暮用がありちょっと仙台へ　そうしたらこんな楽しいイベントがあったので覗いてみました

『脳カフェ　杜の都で脳を語る　脳はなぜ美に魅せられるのか』

a quick trip to Sendai (my second hometown) – I couldn’t stop myself going to this event; ‘Brain Café’ – a symposium about ‘why our brain is attracted by beauty’

スピーカーのおひとりがフクヘン。（BRUTUS元副編集長）鈴木芳雄さん　

春に十和田に来て下さいましたので、それもうれしい偶然でした

one of the speakers was Suzuki Yoshio san who came to TAC in Spring – he is a renowned editor – it was a nice surprise to see him in Sendai

私は臓器のなかで脳が一番好きですね　まず形状がきれいだし神秘的　秘められたことがいっぱいではないですか　そしてどんどん広がっていく可能性に満ちている　宇宙でしょう　脳好きの私はスピーカーたちの話をわくわくしながら聞いていたのでした

I am absolutely fascinated with the brain – I like its aesthetics to start with – we don’t know much about our own brain, therefore, it’s very interesting to learn about its possibilities – I sometimes think our brains are like the great Universe – infinity!

↑ 関係ないけれど、トーク終了後の椅子達がきれいでした　pop chairs in the venue

で、オーガナイザーの東北大学大学院医学系研究科教授の大隅典子さんはツィッターでよく十和田のことをつぶやいて下さる　今回会場で初めてご挨拶させて頂きましたがそれはそれは素敵な方でした　

BTW, the professor from Tohoku University Graduate School, Ms Noriko Osumi was brilliant – she organised this event – I knew of her through Twitter as she tweets about TAC from time to time – it was nice to finally meet her in person
