today, we held a workshop called `KIMIMO RE-MAKE’

we cut & paste some cloth from a local weaving technique called Nanbu Sakiori – the participants made their own T-shirts with some help from the art students – from the young to the not so young, the girls and the boys – everybody had a great time
the critique time was handled by a renowned creative director, Ms Kazuko Koike ↓
she is delightful

one of the organisers, Yukie said – `fashion united all of us today!’ – a good comment

Yukie seen with a weaving lady
Nanbu Sakiori is the ultimate of recycled weaving, as its weft is the torn cloth from old Kimonos etc – my dream is to make Sakiori uniforms for the museum staff in Towada
BTW, the Sakiori weaving ladies from local area have been a great help for providing materials and also feeding us! – when we visited their studio, there was a three-course lunch already prepared for us – and today they also brought us some rice balls – they are big Mamas, indeed

these hands are magical – they weave beautiful cloth and make delicious rice balls
